It had now been one week since Iola died. She died because he had been flirting with another girl. Iola had ran away and never seen the car coming out from the parking lot. The car had fled from the scene.
Joe was lying on his bed crying. He prayed to God, and he prayed that he had died instead of her. He loved her so much, he couldn’t live without her. The air seemed to say: Your wish is granted.
He never saw her face. He just saw her hair swaying around when she caught him kissing that other girl. He ran after her, calling her name. But she never stopped, she just kept on running. Suddenly he got a feeling that he had to save her. He ran faster and pushed her out of the way and away from the speeding car. The car hit him hard, and he felt the pain. He heard his name being called but he saw the light coming nearer. Then God stood beside him.
“Your prayer has been answered, he said. You got what you wished for.”
He saw his family mourning over him. He saw all of his friends crying. He saw Iola crying.
It hade now been a week since Joe died. Iola was lying on her bed crying. She was the reason he was dead. If she hadn’t run away he would had to push her out of the way. She blamed herself and wished she had confronted him in the mall instead of running away. She could do anything just to bring him back. She prayed, she hadn’t prayed since she was a little girl, but now she prayed that she had died instead of Joe.
The air seemed to whisper: Your wish is granted.
“Hello, handsome stranger.” A brown-haired girl walked up beside Joe.
“Do I know you?” Joe asked, looking at the girl.”
“Not yet, but you will, if you want,” the girl answered.
Joe started to say something but he got a feeling and answered, “I have a girlfriend. I’m not interested, thank you.”
He spotted Iola and went over to her. Leaving the girl looking at him, he grabbed Iola and kissed her. Now he knew what feeling he felt. It was love.
LOVE, the greatest gift of all!
